• Visible crack at a weld or bracket. This is past the warning stage. A cracked weld spreads fast in Texas heat because the thermal expansion keeps working the same seam.
• Gate scrapes the driveway on one side. The frame itself has twisted or a crossmember broke loose. Fix the panel without the post and you’ll fix it twice.
• Operator tries to move the gate but it stalls partway. The gate’s heavier than it used to be, usually because rust built up inside the frame or a wheel assembly seized. That added weight kills the operator over time.
